More and more people are eating vegetarian or vegan. More and more people are also trying to reduce their waste by avoiding (plastic) packaging. However, the combination proves doubly difficult, because many specific vegan products are nowhere (plastic) packaging-free. Verpakkings Vrij Vegan fills this niches. Amsterdammers can order vegan packaging-free groceries, which are delivered to your home by cargo bike in your own pots, pans and bottles!

More and more, new products are not developed by large companies, but from the bottom up. There are numerous companies in Amsterdam and the surrounding area that make innovative and often environmentally responsible products. The products of Verpakkings Vrij Vegan are produced locally and organically as much as possible. The shortest route from producer to plate is the Verpakkings Vrij Vegan cargo bike!

Product Range
Verpakkings Vrij Vegan does not offer a complete range, but offers products relevant to vegans that are hardly or not (plastic) free of packaging elsewhere. The products will be organic in origin and locally produced as much as possible.

Ordering and Delivery
In the first half of 2021, the Verpakkings Vrij Vegan cargo bike will deliver, starting in the Amsterdam region. If you live outside this region, you can indicate your interest in our services via the form on the FAQ. You can indicate in advance via the internet which products you want, on the spot you will receive them in your own recyclable jars and bottles. Of course you can also buy reusable jars and bottles.

Jessse de Wit

The founder

Jesse de Wit came up with the Plan for Verpakkings Vrij Vegan in 2020 out of personal annoyance: in his aim to prevent waste as much as possible, his main source of waste remained the packaging of soy yogurt and vegetarian burgers. Both are impossible to buy packaging-free: this must be possible - in 2021 there is enough technology, environmental awareness and organizational strength for a new solution to this problem.

Jesse is the driving force behind Verpakkings Vrij Vegan, but gets a lot of help and advice from many others.
